Laparoscopic Surgeries Laparoscopy, also known as keyhole surgery, is a minimally invasive technique used to treat various abdominal and pelvic conditions. This procedure involves making small incisions, typically around 1 cm, through which surgical instruments and a laparoscope—a camera that provides high-resolution images—are inserted. The abdomen is first inflated with carbon dioxide to create space and offer a clear view of the internal organs. The laparoscope transmits real-time images to monitors in the operating theatre, enabling the surgeon to perform the procedure with precision, similar to traditional surgery, but with smaller incisions that reduce recovery time and minimize discomfort.
